Prof. Olufemi Onweazu Okoji began his teaching career at Lead City University in 2007 as an Assistant Lecturer. In 2017, he joined the University of Ilorin as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Adult and Primary Education. His academic journey progressed swiftly, with his promotion to Reader in 2020 and subsequently to Professor in 2023.
Prof. Okoji’s leadership roles began in 2018 when he was appointed Acting Head of the Department of Adult and Primary Education at the University of Ilorin. In 2022, he became the Postgraduate Coordinator of the department, and in August 2024, he was appointed Head of Department. His administrative contributions also include serving as a member of the Faculty of Education Research Committee.
Before his tenure at the University of Ilorin, Prof. Okoji held significant roles at Lead City University, where he served as Managing Editor of academic journals from 2015 to 2017. He continued his editorial work at the University of Ilorin, serving as Managing Editor of the Unilorin Journal of Lifelong Education between 2021 and 2023.
Prof. Okoji has an impressive scholarly output, with over forty publications in reputable national and international journals, as well as contributions to book chapters. He has also presented papers at conferences within and outside Nigeria and has successfully supervised postgraduate dissertations. A member of the Nigerian National Council of Adult Education and other professional bodies, Prof. Okoji has consistently demonstrated his commitment to advancing the field of education both nationally and internationally.
